Walter Lewis Lavender 10/21/1936

Born in Birmingham Alabama

Walter resided in the west suburban area of Chicago for over 40 years. He worked at Borg-Warner automotive, where he was a supervisor up until retirement. Walter was known for his love for classic automobiles and his most favorite food  (yard bird) Popeyes. Walter dedicated his life to always putting his family first and instilling in us the values of resilience and hard work

Walter posed away on February 5, 2025 at Hines VA after a short battle with dementia

He is survived by his daughter Michelle Lavender; his grandchildren, Kendall, Kobe and Kadence; his sister, Katherine Bozeman; a host of cousins and many friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. We are grateful for the time we shared and the lessons he imparted.
