It is with a heavy heart that I, Denise Walker-Williams, share the news of the passing of my beloved son, Steven V. Connor, born on May 25, 1997, in Evanston, IL. Steven, a vibrant and loving soul, was a beacon of light to all who knew him. His unique blend of creativity, talent, and humor brought joy, laughter, and comfort to many lives.
Steven's gift for capturing the beauty of the world through his photography was paralleled only by his uncanny ability to connect with people on a deeply personal level. He was a talented young man who brought much life and color to our world.
His work in the fashion industry, coupled with his love for thrifting and discovering hidden treasures, showcased his unique perspective and zest for life.
Steven's deep love for his family and friends was palpable. His relationships were marked by his ability to make people feel seen and heard. He was a loving, funny, and supportive brother to Tyler Epperson, a devoted grandson to Sandra and Lester Conyers, a cherished nephew to Michelle Block and Bryan Conyers, and a beloved cousin to Dominique Walker and Whitney Block. Steven also shared a special bond with his step-father, Hardy Williams, who was a pillar of support in his life. As his mother, I can attest to his tender heart, his love for others, and his unwavering faith.
Steven was a born-again believer who lived out his faith with authenticity and love.
His life echoed the biblical verse, "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16). Steven's light shone brightly in every aspect of his life, from his All-American Track & Field achievements to the accolades he received for his art. He was a true testament to the power of love, faith, and kindness.
In our sorrow, we celebrate his life and the beautiful legacy he leaves behind. He was a creative force, a loving son, and a cherished friend. His spirit continues to live o1 hrough the memories and lives of those he toucher
