It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rochelle P. Freeman Thorpe, popularly known as RoRo and Queen Cousin. Born on October 11, 1966, in Chicago, IL, Rochelle was a beacon of light who brought joy and warmth to everyone she encountered. Her radiant smile and compassionate heart left an indelible imprint on all, and her love for family was unparalleled. Today, we celebrate Rochelle's life, cherishing the wonderful memories she created.
Rochelle was a woman of faith, embodying the Christian principles of love, kindness, and charity. Her life was a testament to the verse in Proverbs 31:28, "Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her." She was a loving wife to Tony Thorpe and a supportive mother to Pierre Freeman. Along with cooking and cleaning, she devoted herself to taking care of her family. Rochelle had a special knack for making memories with her grandchildren, Dartagnan and Naomi, and her cousins, which earned her the endearing nickname, Queen Cousin.
Reliable and dedicated, Rochelle worked tirelessly at the daycare, impacting many lives, and her dedication was recognized through numerous awards. She loved children and found immense joy in nurturing them. Her residence in Englewood, Chicago, was more than just a home; it was a haven filled with love, laughter, and mouth-watering meals. Rochelle's compassionate nature extended beyond her immediate family to her mother, Janice Freeman, her siblings, Annette and Lexi, her Aunt Jeanette, Uncle Douglas and his partner Carol, and her sister-in-law, Tina Thorpe.
Rochelle was preceded in death by her nephew, Dantrell Davis, and her father, Raphael Freeman. She leaves behind a legacy of love and treasured memories that will be cherished by all who knew her. Rochelle's life was a beautiful testament to the power of love and family.
