Larry McShan was born on June 20, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois. He was the third child of Myrtle McShan.
Larry attended Guggenheim Elementary School, where he graduated in 1970.
He worked at Lutheran General Hospital as a custodial engineer for many years, and he also worked at the California Steel mill for several years.
Larry loved cooking and was an avid baker. He baked the best peanut butter cookies. He was also an excellent painter and would paint as a side hustle.
He enjoyed doing word finds, collecting stamps, coins, and baseball cards. And every weekend in his senior years, you could find him watching the Three Stooges. A reflection of times gone by.
Larry leaves in God's care: one son, Larry MeShan Jr., one sister, Gail MeShan-Elly (Anthony). one brother, Charles McShan (Jenever), three grandchildren, Daniya McShan, Samia McShan, and Camare McShan. One niece, Tasha Trask, and two nephews, Michael McShan and Jayson MeShan.
Larry's mother (Myrtle) and sister, Neysa (Cookie), preceded him in death.
The family would like to give special recognition to Erika, Larry's devoted caregiver. Erika consistently went above and beyond in her responsibilities, offering exceptional care and support. Her kindness, compassion, and thoughtfulness truly embody the qualities of an angel of mercy. Our family is deeply grateful and appreciative of her tireless efforts and unwavering dedication. Erika's selfless service made an immeasurable difference in his life, and we will always remember her with heartfelt gratitude.
