Kamal Din, also known as Clarence Wickware, Jr., was born on October 12, 1937, in Chicago, IL. Kamal was a compassionate soul who touched the lives of many with his thoughtful and generous nature. He was a reliable pillar of strength and a beacon of light for those around him. Kamal was a man who found the most joy in life from the simple, yet profound, love he shared with his beloved wife of his latter years, Donna. Kamal had a diverse career and retired after 35 years from General Motors in Detroit, Michigan, where his work ethic and reliability were greatly valued. After his retirement, he settled in Calumet City, Illinois, where he enjoyed playing dominos, watching basketball & thriller movies, and dancing. A big fan of sweets and popcorn, Kamal's presence was always accompanied by a sense of warmth and his unique humor. Kamal is also remembered for his tremendous and superb sense of style as well as his cool demeanor. Always dressed to impress with a matching suit, hat, and shoes. He was a dedicated member of Narcotics Anonymous, where his wisdom and compassion were of great help to others. Kamal converted to the Nation of Islam in his early life, hence his name change. In the spirit of his faith, we remember this verse from the Quran: "Every soul shall taste death. Then to Us, you will return." (Surah Al-Ankabut, 29:57). Kamal is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Sr, mother, Susie Walker, and his beloved wife, Donna Bryant-Din. He is survived by brothers-in-law, Lee Bryant (Galina) Marlin Bryant ( ),Vernon Bryant (Tish), sisters-in-law, Valerie Davis-Bryant, Carol Bryant (Alonzo) and Trina Bryant (Eric), devoted Wickware family members, Jesse Walker and Donna Bell and a host of neices, nephews, cousins, friends and special loved ones. In honoring Kamal's life, we encourage all to share your cherished memories and photos of him on the memorial page.
