Joseph M Smith, fondly known as Joe, was born in Panola, Alabama, on June 16, 1949, to

Matthew and Hester Smith. He journeyed to his heavenly home on March 11, 2025, while

residing in Chicago, Illinois. He Was also preceded by his Mother and Father in death, his son

Joseph Matthew Smith jr also preceded him in death.

Joseph was the oldest son out of nine boys born to this union, Pharies, Dwight, Carl, Robert,

and Michael also two girls Virginia Mitchell (Walter Mitchell) and Patrica Smith.

Three brothers who preceded him in death Willie, Eddie, and James.

Joseph accepted Christ and was Baptized May 5, 2019 at: 822 North Clark, Chicago, Illinois

60610. This was such a wonderful day in his life and I Carl Smith his brother and his wife

Priscilla, was there to witness his exuberant joy of this experienced.

Joseph attended John Marshall High School: located at: 3250 W. Adams Chicago, Illinois

60624. One of his \rst jobs was at the old Schwinn Bicycle Factory at: 1856 N. Kostner Ave,

Chicago, Illinois 60639, he went on to to utilize his skills working hard.

Joseph loved spending time with his family and friends he really enjoyed being with his two

daughters Tiffany Pro\t, Velvet Simmons-Stallworth (Andrew Stallworth) on those special

occasions called holidays when mama would cook up a storm and we just ate all day long

until we were full. He also leaves a host of nephews and nieces Joseph leaves to mourn his beloved wife Priscilla Harris, who would cherish all the

wonderful memories they shared together. Let us think of “Joseph Matthew Smith” as one

who lived his life loving his wife and family being in “The Spirit of Love, Falling In Love With

Jesus The Rock of Our Salvation….Amen ”.
