Derion King Warrior was born to Oscar Steven McDowell and Shavon Warrior on August 11th, 2009 in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Lane Elementary School and Bremen Community Highschool. In 2019, Derion was baptized at the Lighthouse Church. Derion was full of life and had many hobbies including playing football, boxing, working at One Summer Chicago, practicing karate and being a handy man. He also enjoyed listening to music, cooking and entrepreneurship. Of all of the things he loved, caring for his family was at the top of his list. Derion was direct while still making everyone laugh. 

Derion was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Steven McDowell; his great grandmothers, Mary Holder and Canary Warrior; his great uncle, Elbert “June baby” Holder Jr and his cousin Ronnie “Juan “ Blue. He leaves to cherish his loving mother Shavon Warrior, siblings Meya Warrior, Travion Warrior, Xavier Warrior, Omari Mcdowell, Rodney, Stevie Mcdowell, Oscar Mcdowell, Sintrez Mcdowell, Voncele “Lay Lay” Mcdowell, Sincere Mcdowell, Keangel Mcdowell, Jaliyah Mcdowell; grandmother Mary Warrior, grandfather Wesley Warrior, Uncles Brian Holder, Elijah Warrior and Nathan Warrior. 

Aunts Kiesha Hopkins, Kyisha Hopkins, Mya Lynn Warrior, Maya Evans (Kevin), and Jasmine Johson. Great Aunts Caroline “Carol” Warrior, Nancy Holder and Arnithia “Letha” Warrior. Great Uncle Michael “Mike” Warrior. Cousins Jaylin Holder, Jada Rasberry, Adam Mcdowell, Nyomi Holder and Telila “Lee Lee” Holder. Godparents Mark and Ashley Dickerson. Godbrother Jeremiah Dickerson and godsister Jamiyha Dickerson. Derion will truly be missed but forever in our hearts for his smile, laughter towards others and the joy he brought to all who knew him.
